Club Day 17th January 2026

Another wet day on Saturday meant difficult playing conditions for our club day. Matt Smith didn't seem to notice as he had a comfortable win with -4. Followed by Sam Gavin and a revitalized Don Giles.

Greenkeeper's Update 

This is the 18th Green. A photo taken with no filters or edits. A thing of beauty.

Two men in Hanmer Springs are very happy with the recent rains. Our greens keepers Steve and Neil are delighted with the nutrient rich water falling from the skies which is better for the greens than irrigation. The weather combined with the Living Turf program that the boys have implemented this year has the greens looking better than ever. A combination of wetting agent (drawing water down) and Tricure (drawing the water up when needed) has resulted in there being no more dry patches on the greens. 

Steve and Neil have never seen the golf course this green at this time of year. The rough needs to be mowed daily which is highly unusual in summer.

Steve and Neil wanted to extend their thanks to the volunteers at Dads Army, who keep the course tidy and weed free, especially after storms and other weather events. Thank you all.
