Club Golf 6 June 2026.

Due to bad weather, only a handful of hardy souls ventured onto the course, and no competition was held on Saturday.

In our midweek golf competition Maree Herlund was the runaway winner with a brilliant 41 stablefords. Great score, Maree. Well done.

Hanmer Springs 3rd in Ladies Pennants 

Congratulations to our ladies for achieving third place in this year's North Canterbury Interclub competition, behind Scargill and Hawarden.

Frost Delays

These beautiful clear Winter days lead to frosty mornings and delays on the golf course.

Each day this week the course has been closed until 1030am.

Please do not commence play if the greens are white.

Last weekend, the Champion of Champions event at Weedons Golf Club featured strong representation from the Hanmer Springs GC. The team finished a credible 18th gross Stableford / 17th net Stableford. 

The individual scores were

Brent Berry 20th senior gross. 15th senior nett.

Mike Gibbon: 24th intermediate gross. 26th intermediate nett.

Craig Meaclem: 19th junior gross. 19th junior nett. 

Well done, fellas...good job. 

Golf Club Tipping Competition

We have a few places remaining in our Football World Cup tipping competition.

Even if you don't like football, this will give you an interest for the next few weeks. You could even win...who knows? 

$10 gets you two randomly drawn teams. There will be prizes for the two finalists and also the worst-performing team.

We have purchased 4 sets of brand new Wilson Player Fit golf clubs for our rental pool. These are quality clubs from our friends at Wilson Golf.

These sets will be our premium offering for rentals for serious players that arrive without clubs. It's not unusual to have low-handicap players travelling around NZ that enjoy the course, the greens and the setting but are disappointed with our ageing hire clubs. Now for a few dollars more, they can play the course with a real quality set. 

Any members wishing to try out these clubs will receive a discount.
