Alpine Village Inn 2022 Shootout

In the end, it looked like the US Open, with a swarm of spectators following and supporting the players down the final fairways.

There could only be one winner, and Richrard Campbell held his nerve to hold off Matt Smith to win this year's Alpine Village Inn Shootout.

A big thank you to all participants and volunteers, in particular Mike Gibbon, for making this such a successful day.

Pictured is Richard being presented with his prize from Alan McNabb, our generous sponsor from the Alpine Village Inn.

Hanmer Springs Christmas Hamper Club Day

It was a case greenskeeper turned greens maestro as Neil Duncan won the xmas hamper golf day. Neil returned a personal best score just when it mattered.

Beverley Pool had an outstanding round to claim second place.

Both players walked away with huge Christmas hampers. Well done.

Other winners on the day

A huge thank you to the Dads (and Mums)  Army Volunteers.

On behalf of the entire club, I would like to express our gratitude to our dependable volunteers, Fred and Linda Saunders, Greg and Sandy Sansom, Graham Rouse, and Ali Dunbar.

This determined group shows out every week, rain or shine, to help with various odd jobs around the course.

I would also like to extend this thanks to our life member Bryan Mustchin who came from Kaiapoi to help on Thursday, it was great to see you and the passion you still hold for the club.

It was also great to see Mike and David step out from behind the counter and get down and dirty. A real team effort.

Thank you, guys. Without you, we couldn't do it.

Mike's Pro Tip

Swinging the golf club too quickly is a problem for many players. To corrct this, try counting ‘1’ when you start your swing, ‘2’ when you reach the top of your backswing, ‘3’ at impact, and ‘4’ when you reach a balanced finish.

This small tip, if implemented correctly, will make a big difference in your game.
